Srinagar, Sep 09 (KNO): Repulsing back to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah on Sunday blamed the incumbent regime for the new start of militancy in Jammu region, saying that it has failed completely in fighting the militancy. “During my tenure of six years, the graph of militancy was declining with each passing year, but in the last five years, it is increasing year-by-year,” Omar said as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) in Shopian. Replying to a statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah wherein he had stated that the NC-Congress alliance will bring terrorism back in J&K, Omar said that the incumbent regime has given a new start to the militancy in Jammu in a new way and the militancy is visible in every district. “If anyone has failed to fight militancy, it is the present government; the next government of NC-Congress will improve the situation,” Omar said. Furthermore, Omar said that the NC is the only party, who has given a huge sacrifice while fighting militancy, adding that “I feel sorry when the Union Home Minister makes such statements.” Replying to a query about restoration of Article 370, Omar said that “when it has been snatched, the Supreme Court changed three of its previous verdicts. How can you expect the fresh verdict cannot be changed? We cannot say it will be restored tomorrow or during this assembly, but we are saying that the issue will be kept alive like BJP kept it alive for 20-25 years.”—(KNO)
